what to do...

It's my "off" day tomorrow and there's no need to work or return to school for activities. So.. I'll be going to get an injection tomorrow for typhoid vaccination :(

My memories of getting injections are pretty much limited to primary school and secondary school days, where everyone queues up and stands in line to wait for their turn. I guess what will be different this time round for me is that there won't be my classmates/friends around anymore, and it'll just be me alone. I'll admit, this prospect's pretty darn scary.

Hahahaha. It's so awkward trying to form sentences in Chinese while writing. My command of the language has been focused at speaking and reading recently, such that writing has become a bit of a problem :S

collage

Check out this cake! My sister baked it whilst I was asleep yesterday, haha. It was for the birthday of a colleague at work and really yummy. :P Her baked goods are reaching the standard of 'store-bought', which is quite amazing (and lucky for us folks who get to eat 'em).

Right, and these pictures are from my cousin Gladys' birthday party several weeks ago. It was nice to see my cousins again, though I didn't get to talk much with most of them, it was still a good memory & get-together (:

tired arms

Okay, I've only got a short amount of time before I've got to get ready for work. Recently, my days seem pretty short. I'll wake up at 12 or 1 pm, start preparing to leave home at 2.30pm, return home at 11pm and sleep at 2am.

Yah and my arms hurt like mad cause of lifting the heavy pans at work. I could have sworn that my arms gave up on me several times and the pans of food kinda flopped onto the customer's table while I served them, which was really bad :( I'm kinda worried that it'll happen again today too.

But anyway, today's my last day (24h) as a trainee and after that I'll start getting paid so yayyyy! Then I'll be able to go back to school to help out with BAOC too (:

back

Back from cruising the high seas! :D Don't know about the others, but it was a very relaxing trip for me. We returned to our cabin whenever we had a chance and just chatted while playing card games.

Yeah anyway, I started work today and it sure is a change from staying at home the entire day! Though my shift was only from the evening till night, I'm pretty tired already :S

And I got back my results on the last day of the cruise trip.. sometimes, without looking at your grades, you already know how you did because it's somewhat expected. Yep & I scored as anticipated, but Macroecons was a disappointment. Other than that, I'm quite okay with my results. Will try harder next semester & not disappoint myself (:

i've mentioned this before

I'm really thankful and glad for the wide range of stuff that's available online. TV shows, people, music, photos.. stuff which I may not get exposed to on a daily basis is all available on the internet. (: I've been exposed to a whole new world!

Been enjoying the Korean drama 'Boys Before Flowers'. Heheheheh :D Idol dramas are so enticing, somehow. They know to make a play of our feelings and to get us hooked. This one has quite a few similar scenes to other dramas though.

Like the swimming pool girl-saves-boy scene is pretty much the same as the one in '爱就宅一起' and some parts where the female lead is in Joon Pyo's house looks very similar to scenes from 'Romantic Princess'. But I'm not complaining since many shows like to feature such fairytale stuff which probably doesn't happen in reality. (; And Kim Bum (second guy from left) is so good looking!

I'm happy

Today's yet another day of running around outside, doing errands. I actually had a job interview scheduled in the early afternoon but turned it down because I'm due to start work somewhere else 1 1/2 weeks later.

I randomly made a friend in the student services office today. It was weird, haha.

Picked up my brother's sleeping bag from Fion in school and met up with him in Lot 1 to pass him his sleeping bag & buy photo frames (idk why) for his camp. The funny thing is, after I bid him farewell and headed towards the MRT station, I realised that i was still hugging his sleeping bag.

I'm enjoying having an MRT station within walking distance from my home! It hasn't been extremely sunny lately and the < 10min walk is enjoyable. Hello, shorter travelling time :D

my father's day. literally.

Happy Birthday to You~ Yep, my dad turns 45! Finally.. a glimpse of DSLR-taken photos. My sister and I baked him a chocolate/mocha cake the day before and haphazardly designed it with whatever we had in the fridge. Still looked quite pretty and tasted good though :D I love love love coffee frosting.

After everything that we have experienced together in the past 3 years, I'm glad that we now understand each other a lot better as a family and I hope that we'll always continue this open method of communication. And may my dad stay healthy and happy so that he will be able to enjoy his years ahead.

Hope that you liked the set up and everything. Happy birthday to the best dad, ever. (:

dizzy from bobbing up & down

I was browsing through my old blogskins account and I'm shocked at how much personal information I divulged on that public web previously. Hahaha. It's like a trial of evidence has been left behind and available for all to follow, all the way here to this blog!

Anyway, here's a rarely-seen face in this place... that's my brother looking mighty pleased with the lone frosted cupcake I left him (: He's extremely wary of any cameras I have which point at him so I decided to trick him today with my non-camera phone but he didn't fall for it! This one was shot secretly though.

Went to Jurong Point a few days back in search of a job but failed in my mission. T_T All the stores seemed so intimidating. I've told myself that I'll only take up the foreign language enhancement programme if I manage to land myself with a job which will cover the $160 and I really want to take up those lessons...

seen them before?

Okay, so here's a look at my 'project' i mentioned in the previous post - Rainbow cupcakes! :D

They were for Fangfang's birthday and I brought them to school 2 days ago for a mini celebration during their BAMP camp.

It started out being simple tricolour cupcakes with the colours split into sections like below, but i decided to make use of the method i discovered that people used to make zebra cakes and they turned out really nice :)

Anyway, you can tell from the pictures that I couldn't resist them after baking and kept attacking the cupcakes. It was a feast for both my eyes and for the taste buds. I'll definitely make them again for special occasions. (:

Hope that Hui Fang and those who tasted these cupcakes liked them (: Happy Belated 18th Birthday to you!! Thanks for having us over at your place for the celebration on Sunday too, your house is huge!

My rainbow day

Spent my day at home today, after going to Pioneer MRT station to pass Cab some the camp stuff. Can you guess what I did?? I'll be able to reveal it tmr/the day after that. Some clues:

Colourful stained kitchen towel

And I made those cupcakes for Qi En's birthday on 31st Jan. The guys refused to eat the icing.. maybe cause it was pink. Anyway, it was my first successful attempt at making icing/frosting and it tasted pretty good. Thanks for having us over at your place, Clara!

yellow and blue

The 7-week vacation is here!

I'm looking forward to working, provided that I am actually able to find a job. Haha. Really hope that there's enough vacancies on Qi En's friend's side. And if you have any job recommendations, do let me know! (: I don't want to waste away these holidays and the precious time that, I'm sure, will fly by.

Oh and I'm still sick. Eurgh. Having flu is no fun. Plus, my elephant sneezes embarrass me sometimes and I'm worried about spreading this flu to others as well. And the perpetual headaches.. zzzzz.

I'm quite unsure of how I did for my exam papers so I can only hope for the best and wish hard that my GPA will be above 3.0, which is acceptable to me (considering the tough modules we had).

This semester had been pretty good. Hectic, yet fulfilling :) It was a sudden jump from the first semester though, and rather unexpected. But I'm glad to say that I survived my first individual reports (with content page), first time designing slides, first time working with several classmates, and the relief of not having to retake any papers unlike last sem, when I had to have a retest for stats. Strong friendships were also forged, which I am thankful for. You know who you are (:

Looking back, I also realize that our tutors for this semester were not the best. After spending half a year with our class, I am very sure that there are at least 2 tutors who cannot recognize us & do not know our names yet. Better luck with the tutors next sem!

P.S. How did this entry become so long??
