I'm feeling thankful for all that I've received in these last few days of 2008 (:

Lots of meet-ups with friends actually materialized, which is great! Just came back from athletics chalet yesterday and it was pretty fun too. Plus, counting down later with the girls, yay! :D



I enjoyed the post-christmas TR03 gathering. Hahaha! Thanks for the watch, Daohui! (the most related to soybean award recipient) I'll definitely wear it. (: Thanks for the note, Jiahui! Thanks for the letter, Cab (the shape is super cooool!) and thanks for the christmas card, Gladys (hahah! the message inside is so long!). I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of it all.

Also went for the tuition gathering. The food was pretty good and it was nice to see everyone (: And I hope that the mysterious stain on my skirt will wash off. kekeke.

Oh and thanks for the photo frame + picture, Zhenning. It's on my table right in front of me! This is my first ever christmas with presents! :D I love all of them!

movie moments

Watched Australia yesterday with my Dad & Aunty Christine. I remember we watched its trailer we watched during lecture :) It's quite a touching show, and with some funny parts in which we LOL-ed. My ticket only cost $6 & I find it very worthwhile for a 2h 45min show! There were several parts which I didn't understand (and still don't) but the show itself is really meaningful as it talks about the struggles of the Aboriginal tribe in Australia + world war 2.

Still want to watch Twilight though! Athletes, during the chalet? :)

Merry Christmas! :D

Christmas eve was a day spent revolving around food (: Met up with Fion in school to discuss the new menu for our FABM (food & beverage mgt) project and we managed to come up with pretty good ideas!

It was followed by dinner with my family (plus grandparents) at Orchid Country Club. Lobster porridge! The 'porridge water' was so sweet :P Delectable! The place has a spooky toilet though :( The last time I went, my hair on the back of my neck all stood up and I sprinted out as quickly as I could!

Festivals & special occasions this year don't seem to have the holiday "feeling" to me. Like CNY, my birthday, xmas.. hmmmm. Baked some cookies but they taste rather odd this time round, don't know what went wrong! Hope that my christmas mortal doesn't mind receiving them :S

late nights

Ahh it's 3.15am right now and my head feels as though it's about to explode. "Hello, projects!" Been going to school pretty much everyday this holiday for project meetings. I need to feel more motivated to wake up early every morning!

Y'know, on the return journey from Cameron Highlands, the bus took around 13h+ to reach Singapore. Luckily, my dad upgraded the seats & the chairs can recline to about 160 degrees. There was also entertainment such as individual mini tv screens and stuff. So I watched 4 movies at a go; it was kinda crazy. Wild Hogs, Jump In, High School Musical 2, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium, and Dead or Alive (DOA). All thanks to the punctured tyre which left us stranded on the highway for 1h 30min!

HELLO, I'm back home! Cameron Highlands was lovely. The weather was so much cooler than expected! The lowest I experienced there was about 12 degrees (and in Malaysia, too). Woww. But generally it was around 15 to 20 degrees, and we were all bundled up like snowmen. (:

Oh I finally learnt how to use the Macro feature on my camera! :D And so many of the photos taken on the trip are pretty blurry because there was so much mist/fog in the air! :( Steamboats & steamed/grilled corn are awesome though.

Was watching the show Food Paradise on channel 16 just now and it caused me to have cravings for pizza! Mhmmm. And according to the show, there's a place in USA called Ellis i think. Cooool~

Full day of activities tomorrow, starting with a project meeting in school at 10.30am. Sure hope that I'll be able to wake up in time seeing that it's already 2.30am right now :/ Please let everything go smoothly tomorrow!! :D

THE COMMON TESTS ARE OVER! Time to start on projects. Not needing to study ITB for the time being is a relief :)

The 2/5 BBQ was great! Still the same old lovable class. Thanks Odelia & Junhua (and whoever else) for organizing it! It was good to see everyone and how they've changed :D And the food was yummy too. Hehehe.

Had already decided last night to head down to the library today to study. But I woke up too late + took too long to prepare and ended up studying on my bed/table again. At least it was productive! Still going a little too slow though :( Tomorrow I will!

However, I'm feeling a little sick now. I sense a fever burning up and a headache creeping in right now. Bad timing.

I find the way internet connects people very fascinating! It allows people from all over the world to be somehow linked & enable them to communicate. And it's so easy too. Online journals are amazing as well. Through online journals & communities, one can get to know how others live overseas and even get to 'talk' to them though commenting on their entries & stuff :D

Been thinking of earning money during the holidays & putting my entrepreneurship skills to the test! Haha. A business! Not sure if it's credible though, just toying around with the idea at the moment.

Totally not in the study + exam mood yet :( Could be due to the large, distracting sewing machine by the dining table beckoning to me everyday. Can't wait for the holidays to begin so that I can sew without feeling guilty (:

Botanical Gardens

Yup, went down to Botanical Gardens yesterday morning with my family. It's a nice place to people-watch since there are so many tourists and visitors from all walks of life. They're also many dogs out for a walk with their owners! :D Cute & tame.

The 'pro' photos below are my favourite of the lot taken by my sister using her trusty DSLR. I forgot the bring the digicam out. Regretted this greatly! Claire kindly allowed me to borrow her camera when her arms got tired & I took some photos which I really liked, after learning how to do close-up macro shots. BUT! I've no access to those pictures (-.-)! Oookay.

Hur hur, I attempted to make cake balls from leftover chocolate cake yesterday. Unfortunately, they look quite sad and ugly. And the white chocolate ones are very sweet, so much so that when my sis bit into one she couldn't talk and exclaimed that her teeth hurt. Haha! The milk chocolate ones is goood though and there's this unique appeal/taste to it which makes me want to eat more! Yum :D

okay this isn't funny

Got chased by a wild dog whilst walking home. Attempted to flee towards the petrol kiosk area a few steps away and fell into the grass in front of the car wash workers. To top it off, my shoe disappeared in the knee high grass (which is actually a drain overgrown with grass that I fell in apparently) and I had to get them to help me hunt for it.

Luckily, I managed to recover it.. if not, it would have been quite a sight to see a person wearing a single shoe walking on across the grass patch & attempting to escape from wild animals(?!!).

My grandma asked me to swing my laptop towards them should those stray dogs approach me again (without realising that the laptop was something heavy, haha). And she gave me a sling bag to keep my laptop cause she thinks that it's too heavy to carry by hand. So sweet of her! :D

i miss commonwealth

I miss secondary school & sec school life. Having so many people you know pass by you everyday, the familiarity every time you step into the school. Feeling as though you're 'the boss' (lum always says this) of the place, simply feeling comfortable in there. Heck, even belonging to a classroom is missed. And finally, I miss the athletes & the closeness of everyone. Not exactly the running aspect of the CCA, but it was the company who made it all enjoyable anyway. (;

I'm feeling cheerful today :)

One good thing about us humans is that we can derive happiness from others, even if it doesn't involve ourselves in that situation. That's the case for me, though I'm not sure if it applies to others. Such as if our friends are happy, you don't have to be beside them to feel glad for them. And it might not be your birthday, but you feel happy anyway, cause it's the day of someone close to you.

I'm relieved and happy that today went by smoothly.

Spent the evening at home altering a pair of jeans by hand. Fingers hurt like they've been playing the guitar for hours :( Feels pretty good though, doing some DIY stuff!

Currently finishing up the presentation portion on ITB project part 1. At least that's one down! And glad that it'll be over soon cause it's the most un-understandable project to date in poly I guess. A whole group of girls doing IT? Haha! Don't look down on us (:

Family meeting/discussion earlier on in the night just now. I feel like I've learnt more of the situation and understand my reactions to this situation better. Hope that the 4 of us will stay together, in mind and heart.

Food Safari + Dental appointment later on (: As it is right now, I'm feeling really hungry!

Cleared pretty much all of my tutorials at hand after school in the library today, and I'm left with just various things to research on for projects in preparation for the upcoming week, which should be manageable :D

Currently itching to sew myself a bag/tote by hand. What fabric should I use? Am considering buying some fabric for future DIY projects. Should be quite fun, making my own stuff. And less expensive than buying an actual bag right? I hope so. (;


YAHHH and there are quite a few things that I need to get for myself. A pencil case complete with stationary (can't live merely with the 2 black pens I bring to school everyday), new flats (the 2 pairs I own have soles so worn out, they're slippery already), new slippers (same point as the shoes), black cardigan (can't possibly wear a white one everyday! it still needs to be washed!), a job. These are the realistic goals I have right now.

Don't even talk about stuff like earphones, backpack, mp4, new handphone (since my current v3i's batteries are cmi).. they're considered luxuries now- the luxuries I had before but took for granted. Haha. Will have to wait till I earn more money during the end-of-sem break/vacation before even thinking about owning them.

Let's practice more self-restraint then.

Happy 1 weeksary to me surviving school without a student ID/pencil case/file/dinotheMP4.

2 things happened today which reminded me about how lucky I am. First was that I crossed the road near my home mistakenly thinking that the traffic light has already turned green (apparently it's green for the the vehicles coming my way) and an incoming lorry rushing down honked at me like "honnkkkkkkk". Luckily I did not freeze there with my feet rooted to the ground. You can just imagine the scenario if I did. Lucky, lucky for me.

Second incident is also due to my own carelessness. Left my laptop at the school library's self-check out book station and went to the main counter to borrow my books instead. JT, Joan and I ran down to the atrium after I realised that my laptop was missing. In the end we ran back to the library to find another librarian with my laptop at the counter where I was. Thank you! Phew.

Feel that I'm not goal orientated enough, not focused entirely on my work. As though one foot is in the water and the other foot is out, feeling all dry and different- like it's not meant to be there. Bad analogy but if you get it then good, we're on the same wavelength :)

It's as though there's this list of stuff which has to be done but the number of items on this list keeps growing longer and longer..

Still have this slight feeling of emptiness, due to that incident. Where's my pencil case? Where's my yellow file with my lecture notes & tutorial work? They should be with me now, they should have been then. When things that you normally take for granted are suddenly taken away, you'll learn to treasure them. Of course you will.

I just had the worst day, ever. Don't think that anyone else's can top mine. Careless mistakes, really.

It's my fault for having such a idiot-proof pin and my fault for leaving my belongings unattended. Fine. But where are your morals? If I recognise you people, imma gonna fight you. fight fight fight. $_$

Having a headache now due to today's jeopardy of events. Plus my tutorials + lecture notes are gone too, omg. Totally not in the mood to redo them and i don't think that I will. Sorry Voer Uit );

it's not about being self-centered

sometimes, you just feel like the weight of the world's on your shoulders when in fact, nothing's there.

I need to take a break from people to have some time for myself. With so many activities going on lately, there's hardly any time to sit down and think. Tomorrow will be a day consisting of wenbin, books & the library. Need to learn to love myself before turning to others and enjoying their company as well.

Thank goodness the video's done already. It's time to get my life back into order once again (; Organization, clearing out of stuff and studies.

The flash from my camera was so blinding that both Darren (the one in black), and Assyaraf (green shirt) had their eyes closed & mouths still in the smiley position? But my camera can't ever beat Qi En's 7-flashes-in-a-row cam. I think it's a wonder how the people in her photos even have their eyes open!

My poor laptop seems to be going bonkers :( So if you see me talking to it, don't be alarmed - I'm probably coaxing it to stop misbehaving. Stayed in school till 9pm with Gladys today to work on the Motion TV video. Yup, the troublesome video which we thought was going to be simple, easy and fuss free. That was before we embarked on it of course. How wrong we were! The video editing programme loves to shut down by itself. Bahh :/

I seriously think that my command of English is becoming worse and my skills of writing, slipping away from me. No longer can I (seem to) express my emotions nor thoughts in this journal of mine ): Might be due to the fear of allowing others to read about the terrible things that goes through my mind (OMG!) or that I simply can't translate them into words accurately anymore. Hmm..

Was just thinking about all the stuff you girls had said on Sunday. Came to the conclusion that.. Zhenning is not romantic! :) Hahaha. But I'm really happy for you 3. May the loves of your lives always be there for you! Yours truly is mildly envious k.

Yet another day of oversleeping which resulted in me taking cab to school. $_$ Had LMS lesson with Lum, which was alright. Met up with Gladys after that and we headed down to Tiong Baru's Salvation Army to not-so-secretly take photos of clothes. We then went to Anchor Point to check out the outlets where we were going to (secretly) film.

Felt like a suspicious character for the entire day. Haha! Bought a backpack at Queensway shopping centre. It's light and comfy :) After that, Joan reached already so we proceeded to film the content for our Motion TV video and we are finally done with it! [most of it, anyway]


Lum, Gladys and I went to IKEA for dinner at 8pm. Yummmm. I'm gonna have the meatballs for lunch later on again cause my sis will be cooking them :P It was a nice chatting session as well. Thanks for accompanying me to look at the showrooms! I can imagine what my future room (in probably 2 years time) will look like. My sis & I were just talking about how the both of us want loft beds at the moment (;

Came home to find that the F21 clothes have arrived! Happy happy. In need of a job though, it pains me to see the money in my bank account decrease so steadily.

you're not going to break through my defence

It's the second week of school already, every thing's been alright. Went to run at the school track last friday and monday and i was greatly reminded of cross country! Just running itself presents loads of memories :) I miss the smell of the forest (in Macritchie)!

Tutorials started this week and I'm still not used to waking up early. Overslept 2 out of 4 days so far and I get very tired at the end of the day. Was even dozing off during HOM lecture today :( Will be attempting to rest earlier from now on, before 1am every night!

Oh and Fion, you sang beautifully at the Knockout Round today. You made us have goosebumps from the abundance of emotions in your singing! Very proud of you (:

Birthday wishes,

Today's a pretty good day. Woke up extremely late at 2.55pm and got prepared to leave the house (I'm supposed to bring my brother out). However, waited till evening before we finally went out and in the meantime, I helped to paint my grandma's nails :) They're pink now. hahah. Oh & it's Ellis' brother's birthday today too. Cool!

The two of us went to shop for his presents and that naughty boy made me pay for everything, even his bubble tea and mineral water! 0_0 I'm glad that he managed to enjoy today despite the slight tension at home earlier (which occurred while I was asleep). Hope that you enjoy your prezzies! And pay me back the money you owe me :}

reflection time,

School has been nice and busy. In the blink of an eye (seemingly),the first week of semester 2 is over! Yup and in a bid to improve my grades, I resolve to do all my tutorials. If I'm unable to complete them, then at least try my best to. It's the least I can do to save my results (:

Oh yes, on the issue of spending. Spent a lot recently and this is very bad! I need to curb excessive spending! This is especially important as yours truly is considered jobless now.

New semester, new beginning. Past mistakes will not be repeated; 加油!
